We have been working closely with a housing charity (Housing for young adult asylum seekers) for a number of years. During one of our recent inspections, we have spotted some incorrect wiring at the fuse board, and some gaps on the electrical report. It is our responsibility to make sure the working environment is safe for our clients. In this instant something didn’t add up, so we have investigated further.
All electricians must be registered with credited a certification body such as NAPIT. In this case ( picture attached) the contractor was withdrawn. This was ringing red flags!
This is the consumer unit which was reported to be safe and certified for use. As you can see from the photo, one ring main had been split into two 16amp spurs. These are a temporary work-round and can only support one double socket. So, more questions were raised.
